I was born in December of 2009 on a Domestic Kangaroo Farm in Oklahoma.

When I was five and a half months old, just 2 weeks out of my Kangaroo Mom’s pouch, I ran head first into a fence. My accident left me severely injured with a broken neck and massive head injury. I was left completely paralyzed.

I was taken to Wild Heart Ranch where Annette Tucker confirmed my broken neck and began my new journey. Annette told Kaye, the kangaroo breeder and owner, that I would not survive without constant 24 hour care and lots of love, if I would survive at all.

That’s when I got my new Mom, Christie Carr. Christie took me into her home where I got constant love and care and soon adopted me as her own. Kaye signed my ownership over to her because of the bond she and I created. Christie, now known as Mom started my therapy. She did exercises with me every day.

See Mom had been in a very low point of her life. Two years earlier Mom had suffered a stroke and was still dealing with side effects from that. She was battling depression from not only the stroke but also from the grief of losing her Grandmother and then she tried to end her own life because of all the sadness she felt.

Then Mom started volunteering at the facility where I was born as a form of Animal Therapy. I would soon become the most important thing in her life, as she would mine. Mom was living with her sister and brother-in-law, Aunt LaDonna and Uncle Jeff (we call him Jeffro).

After my injury I needed a neck brace. Mom tried several different things until we found one that would fit. My first neck brace was attached to a human baby’s 1 piece pajama set. When I grew out of that one Mom was able to take a baby size soft neck brace and adjust it to fit me. I wore this one for about 4 months as my neck fused back and healed.

Everyone told Mom not to get too attached to me because it would be a miracle if I survived. No one expected me to make it but Mom and I were determined. We created a bond that no one could sever.

Three months after I broke my neck I moved in the night while sleeping on my pallet in the floor and I broke my leg. Mom rushed me back to Wild Heart Ranch where Annette and my doctor, Dr Lesleigh Cash, set and put a cast on my leg. Mom and I don’t know what we would do without Annette and this wonderful place where miracles are performed every day, Wild Heart Ranch.

I have been with Mom for almost a year now and I am doing great.
I am no longer paralyzed and I am trying to learn to hop on my own again. I will never be a normal kangaroo. Because of my injury and the fact that I was neutered at such a young age, I will never become the size of a normal kangaroo. I will always be small not estimated to grow any larger than fifty pounds if I ever reach that size at all. I will be mobile, but will never be normal. I will never be able to hop as far, fast, or as high as a normal kangaroo.

I do have a very happy cushy life. I am now a registered therapy pet. Mom takes me to Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Adult Day Care Facilities, etc. where I bring smiles and joy to these people as a form of therapy for them, myself, and Mom.

We also are now volunteers at Wild Heart Ranch where I am their Compassion Ambassador. I help raise money for them so that they can take care of other animals in need. If Wild Heart Ranch raises enough money to expand their clinic as they would like to, they will also build cabins for onsite volunteers. Annette has offered to let Mom and I live in one of those cabins where Mom can assist with the other animals, I can bring joy and support, and Annette will be close at hand to assist with my care.

Please check out their website at www.WildHeartRanch.org.

Then go to Support.WildHeartRanch.org and make a donation.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, thoughts, prayers, and support. Mom and I couldn’t do it without you...

Lots of Love and kangaroo snuggles to you,
